Who we are
My GCT Store is a student-run project showcase for Government College of Technology, Coimbatore. It lets GCT students publish and share the apps, websites and tools they build, and lets anyone browse and download them without an account.
What we collect
- Visitors: nothing personal. Browsing, searching and downloading need no account. We keep anonymous counters (views and downloads per project) that are not linked to you.
- Developers who sign in with Google: your name, email address and Google profile photo, as shared by Google Sign-In.
- Developers who complete a profile: your GCT college email, phone number, and optional GitHub / LinkedIn profile links. These are used to verify that you are a GCT student before you can publish.
- Published content: the projects you publish — names, descriptions, links, app files, icons and screenshots — are public by design and visible to everyone.
- Reviews: the display name, rating and comment a reviewer submits are shown publicly on the project page.
How we use it
- To create and operate your developer account.
- To verify developer accounts (college email and phone number).
- To display your public developer profile — your name, photo and any GitHub / LinkedIn links — next to your published projects.
- To compute store statistics such as download counts, view counts and the weekly Top Developer highlight.
- To contact you about your account or published projects if needed.
What we never do
We do not sell your data, show ads, or share your personal details (email, phone number) with third parties. Your phone number and college email are only visible to the store admin for verification — never on any public page.
External links
Project pages contain links to developers' own GitHub repositories and live websites. We check that these links are publicly reachable at publish time, but the linked sites have their own privacy practices that we do not control.
Data removal
Developers can delete their own projects from the developer console at any time. To remove your developer account and its data entirely, or to ask any question about this policy, contact us and we will handle it promptly.
